Harkamaya College of Education stands for quality and discipline. I will uphold to the ideals of these two truths of “Quality” and “Discipline”. The college being a Teacher Education Institution upholds the vision to instill the right values to obtain a holistic personality for taking challenges and defying the normal norms for better future. As rightly said by Herbert Spence, “The aim of education is not knowledge but action”.

Teachers provide education by giving a possibility for better future. They assure to infuse creativity in every child. Teachers create humans with values and teach them right from wrong. The teachers have an immense role to play not only in schools but in the society at large. Thus Harkamaya College of Education recognizes this important role of a teacher and influences the matrix for a student-teacher to become an outstanding teacher.

For excellent teachers to go and grow into the society; the institution engages excellent teacher educators who have always been the driving force in the growth of the college and who instills in the minds of the prospective teachers by opening their minds for originality rather than molding them into thinking in a box. The institution laid its foundation with a Mission to provide 360 degree quality education which will enable students not only to thrive in academics through curricular activities but also motivate them towards character building, leadership qualities through co-curricular activities. The institution has its Vision for preparing resourceful and skilled teachers, with high caliber of knowledge, ideals and aspiration, which I will strictly adhere to. With these qualities of a good teacher our prospective teachers will persevere in any situation or place.

As my predecessors have tried to maintain the quality of teacher education, I, too will try my best to uphold the institution’s name and its commitment for quality education.
